What is Craft Intent?

Craft Intent maintains an accurate record of your tasks, projects, and notebooks so you can get more of what you want done. But it's more than just an an app, it's a system unto itself.

1. The practice of intentionally and thoughtfully organizing tasks, projects, and ideas to enable meaningful work, maintain focus, and achieve goals with clarity and purpose. “Using Craft Intent helps individuals turn chaos into deliberate, impactful action.”
2. A system or philosophy designed to support focused productivity through structured record-keeping and task prioritization.

The Philosophy:

I believe ‘work’ - broadly defined as the sum of useful tasks we accomplish over time - is a necessary and desireable component of a life well lived. Through meaningful work we build relationships, generate self-worth, and contribute productively to ourselves, our family and our surrounding.

But 'work' is not just a job or career. It encompasses all the things we strive to achieve and improve: families, hobbies, personal growth, creative endeavors, and responsibilities. Craft Intent aims to help you achieve this work in the best way possible.

How:

-- To complete work well you must identify and complete correctly the most important tasks.
-- To identify those tasks, you need a total and accurate record of everything you might do.
-- To be usable your record to be written and accessible.
-- The craft intent system accomplishes the above.

The Design Theory:

-- Enable focused work through a clean and simple user interface.
-- No distraction user interface
-- Light, Reliable, and Adaptable Code Base
-- No frameworks, frameworks sacrifice understanding for speed and add unnecessary bulk.
-- Progressive Web Application: One URL, One Codebase, Offline Capabilities, Security
-- Good Documentation. Clear & accurate comments.
-- The best plan is the one with the most options.

The Architecture:

-- Ubuntu Server using Apache Web Server for a robust backend.
-- CouchDB Server side nosql database allows synching across devices and user management
-- PouchDB client side encrypted nosql database
-- Vanilla Javascript, HTML, CSS lean front end.
-- No React, bootstrap or other shortcuts with unnecessary dependencies.
The Roadmap:

-- Short Term: A functioning, hosted, offline capable application. *complete*
-- Mid Term: Make app a progressive web app for a native experience
-- Infinite Goal: Develop, improve, expand the platform. To help people accomplish their goals.
-- Exit plan: Die (preferably of natural causes at an old age)
